My name is Ashleigh

I was born here in Adelaide,  South Australia and have lived here all my life. I am the youngest in my family of four; my mum Tania, my dad Matthew and my older brother Harrison.

I have three adorable cats; Miya, Missy and Buddy and two annoying but loving dogs; Barney and Monty to complete the Buck household.

I have been cooking with my family since I was capable of holding the spatula, and have fallen in love with it more and more since I have grown up.

My dad taught me the ins and outs of cooking a nice and simple 'made-from-scratch' curry which was the first meal I ever prepared and cooked myself, igniting my passion for home-cooked, easy and scrumptious meals that my family and friends love and enjoy.

My mum and I have been baking together since I was six years old, and since then the battle of who makes the best chocolate cake (definitely mine!) is what brings light into our home.

Knowing how to cook and bake I can say from personal experience, cooking is SO much easier. Cooking allows you to experiment and play around with spices and tastes, there is always room to create and produce new meals.

Baking however, does take a sense of perfection and accuracy to create some meals. Though dont feel disheartened, persistence and patience is key when baking. Measuring cups and scales will become your best friend and trusting your nose will always come in handy!

This blog is something I wanted to share with those who were both confident and not so confident in their skills, to show and encourage them to never give up and to keep on persisting. Cooking and baking is a skill that everyone can have and its something that will stay with you forever.
